The Calendar says it is FALL

It was a busy summer for us.
Here is a recap with Phone Pictures from our Summer.
Bear took to flying off the top bunk in his sleep one night.
Here he is waiting with Aimée to see the Chiro.
She isn't happy that her little brother is taller than she is.
But that is how it goes!

How about that?
He is wearing his HOMESCHOOL We do it by the book T-shirt,
while holding a sign that says....well....you can read! :-)

Todd and Aimée found a newborn yellow belly slider while working one day.

A little girl at church now has him for her very own.
His name is ELLIOT.
We had some CHRISTMAS IN JULY dessert in JULY.
It was very tasty.

We made bread bowls with soup inside.
Soup is always a hit at our house.

We remembered how we used to do things many years ago.
Todd was much younger (MUCH YOUNGER) when we used a nice kitchen towel and a clothespin when we went out to eat on Sundays to keep his clothes clean.
Sometimes it is apparent that we should ALL go back to that. We do try to stay clean while eating.
Aimée was our 'grillmaster' this summer.
She makes some delicious BBQ grilled chicken.
(preparing for life in Sierra Leone, West Africa)

Bear is straightening up just fine!
Well, his teeth are!
He is one fantastic 14yo to have around!
 We keep him ADJUSTED!!!
Our kids doing what they love best!
Bear, Aimée and Todd (right over Bear's shoulder)
Telling others about JESUS.
The man with a fake smile!
It was 18 years ago that we were car shopping. I had my heart set on a van.
My husband had his heart set AGAINST a van.

I have enjoyed our Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon for 18 years. We have bonded and shared many memories, along 266,000 miles.
The Buick remains with us, although we have had lots of people want to buy it.
We are working on putting 300,000 plus miles on it. It is a keeper!

In June, we picked up used van with less miles. The price was right and the AC was cold...and all 5 of us ride comfortably!
But...the man is not a van fan...he did it for me!

Changed the colors on the teeth several times.
Doc says only a few more months to go.
He has rubber bands now to entertain us with.

Bear plays the trumpet.
Bear REALLY plays the Trumpet!
Time for Bear to get a new trumpet!!!

Things like this happen to me.
It was at the doctor's office that I discovered I had left the house with 2 birkenstock shoes one...just not the same color or design.
I do this regularly...unfortunately. :-(
Bear built a lot of LEGOs.
This is no suprise to anyone who knows us.
The kids cleaned out the van.
They are so wonderful to have around!
Always helpful to us!

I built a puzzle while recovering from my 6th surgery in 37 months.
I hope to be surgery free for the next 37 months!
LOL

I wore a new pair of birks to the doctor's office.
And look...they MATCH!!  WHOO HOO
:-)

Aimée turned 23.
I remember the day she was born...so vividly.
August 11...her due date was October 3rd.
What a blessing she has been to us!

 That's my boy!
#1 son
and creator of the talking toothpaste tube!
Things like this happen often at our house.
Todd works a lot, and late at night he gets the 'sillies'.
He has 2 siblings that joyfully join in with him!
Aimée had a cyst removed from her shoulder.
Another thing to get done prior to going to Africa next year.
It was bigger than we thought.
And much smaller than it had been earlier this year.

We are back teaching GOOD NEWS CLUB at the YMCA in DeLand.
We are having a really good time this year, and have lots of children.

Proverbs 29:25

The fear of man bringeth a snare:

But whoso putteth his trust

In the LORD shall be safe.

Leaving town for the last time....

On April 17, the shuttle Discovery left town for the last time.
Aimée, Bear and I got up early and went down to the river to watch this last flight.

Aimée and Bear facing west along the river.
Behind them, the Kennedy Space Center.
(She is adjusting to him being her bigger little brother)
Our view of the take off with my camera.
 The VAB
Coming back up from the south, along the river.
It was nice to see, but not as nice as watching a shuttle launch into space!
It was sad to watch Discovery leave.
 Flying north to Washington, DC.
Leaving our town for the very last time.
sigh
This picture are from where my husband works at the Space Center...
what a view they had!
It is a flight....just not an exciting one!
Going by the work place one last time, heading north.
flying low to give the workers (that are left) one last look.
So, what is going to go on the VAB now???
My husband took this picture from the landing strip at KSC...He got a pretty nice view of the last 'take off' of the Shuttle Discovery.

As much as we enjoy things that have to do with Space Launches here, there is something else that will come in the clouds that thrills us more!

Matthew 26:64
Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

One day Jesus will return in the clouds.....
Now THAT is something thrilling to consider!

Colors of the month

 Hot Pink Poinsettia.
My favorite flower,
and in my favorite color!
 My favorite Bear
This month he chose the 'colors of the sea'
for his braces.....

Psalm 33:8
Let all the earth fear the LORD:
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

Bear Adventures

We finally got to the bottom of it!!!
Years of constant ear infections, plugged sinus, and feeling miserable told us there was a problem.

The decision was made.....
It was time for Bear to have allergy tests....
out of 78 tests.... he was positive on 73.....
If it grows or has fur Bear is allergic to it.
One of the biggest reactions was to cats....ah hmmm
Bear is NOT a cat fan, so no problem there.
But he is allergic to all grasses, trees, flowers....this is a problem!

Bear started on 2 allergy shots a week.
Dr. P says mowing should not be a problem for him.
YES!
Bear doesn't enjoy landscaping like his brother does.
But he can still work with his brother!
Work is good for Bear!
Both boys are allergic to grass......

Isaiah 40:8
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:
but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Mark 16:15
And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature.
